Our show is entitled "A Brave New World"
featuring the music ("From the New World") by Antonin Dvorak. Dvorak's focus in his composition was about his experience in
a new country; coming from Bohemia (now known as the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic) to America's New York in 1892.
Dvorak was so fascinated by a country in which its people had much more freedom than his home country, that he felt compelled
to compose a song which embodied those very emotions.
With its 18 members, and under the direction of Harry S. Jones, our mission is
to interpret Dvorak's composition a little differently. Reflecting on some of the events and tragedies that have impacted
the world, as well as in our very own country, many people are so deeply saddened that they want to give up.
The purpose of our show is to give hope and inspiration to all in the face of adversity; no matter what things may come, be
BRAVE when facing NEW challenges
that the WORLD brings your way.
